It was a tough day at the office for the Buccaneers on Saturday against a top notch Stafford Rugby Club side.
It was a gloriously sunny day in Staffordshire and our hosts gave us the warmest of welcomes and made us feel at home. The Buccaneers started the game slowly as Stafford ran in an early try, however, this sparked the Buccaneers into life and new MARI, Matt Taylor ghosted through the Stafford defensive line to get some points on the board.
No quarter given across the park from either side and the Buccaneers stepped up to the challenge in this very physical encounter. Two great tries and a conversion from Buccaneers legend Matty Brennan gave the visitors some cheer for the journey home.
Special shout out to our friends Paul & Kaden from Halifax Magpies Mixed Ability Rugby for turning out for the Buccaneers again and a big ‘hell yeah’ for Richard and Nicholas playing their first ever game of rugby.
This was the first time a Bolton side had played in Stafford and again the warmth and welcome received from our new friends was first class.
